SCREEN-PRINTING RESTRICTIONS

Screen-Printing has limitations as to what is realistically possible and also what looks best. We’ll do our best to make recommendations so your artwork looks as good as possible. Select a dropdown to read about design limitations for embroidery.

    • Minimum stroke thickness: 1 mm

    • Sans serif fonts: 4.7 mm minimum height

    • Serif fonts: 6.35 mm minimum

    • Script fonts: 6 mm minimum

    • Negative spaces must be at least 2 pts

    • Text must be at least 0.18" tall to remain legible

    • Very small taglines often need to be enlarged or removed

    • Ultra-thin lines cannot be recreated in thread

    • They will appear thicker or merge together

    • Outlines on lettering under 0.75" tall do not stitch cleanly

    • Small outlined fonts usually become muddy or unreadable

    • Very detailed artwork can’t be shrunk down without losing clarity

    • Details may require simplification at small sizes (like hat side placements)

    • Smooth fades and gradient effects cannot be embroidered at small scales

    • These areas will be converted to solid colors

    • Embroidery cannot capture true photo-quality detail

    • Expect a stylized, stitched interpretation—not a printed look
